 Job Description

Project Manager

Provides overall management direction to multiple construction projects. Plans, directs, schedules, coordinates, organizes & schedules activities of the building projects to ensure that goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Essential Functions

  1. Serves as the contact person for project information and communicates project status to owners, architects, and others associated with the project.
  2. Monitors project progress for compliance with established schedules, budget, and safety and security procedures.
  3. Reviews contract documents and ensures the project complies.
  4. Conducts project interviews and ongoing meetings to communicate project status.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Mediates and resolves situations that arise on the project.
  2. Coordinates temporary facilities for the project.
  3. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction and experience in project management/construction administration or a combination of experience and education.
  2. Ability to read and write instructions, correspondence, and blueprints. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and group situations.
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variable situations.
  5. Ability to coordinate the work of others and to both give and receive instruction.
  6. Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and to work collaboratively.
  7. Valid driver's license.
  8. Ability to read, analyze, and visualize building plans and quotes.
  9. Good working knowledge of computers and relevant software.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Most work will be performed in a normal office environment, with some work performed in the field.

At times the working conditions may be challenging and involve wide variations in weather and physical environment. The employee may be exposed to wet, cold, hot, and noisy conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to climbing, sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent travel to and from project sites with occasional overnight stays.
